Protecting Your Collection - Magic: the Gathering CardsUpdated 3 minutes ago
For most MTG players, a great starting setup includes:
- Deck Protector Sleeves to protect the cards as you play with them! Our Pro Matte collection makes for easier shuffling and premium protection.
- A Deck Box to store and transport your deck. The Eclipse PRO offers storage for 100+ sleeved cards in a variety of colors to suit your preferences.
- A playmat to provide a clean, protected playing surface; it is also a great way to personalize your play space. You can find a wide variety of colors, characters, and themes among our playmats! You can even choose a Mystery Playmat, and we will send you a random limited edition design!
- Dice or a life counter for tracking game information; you can track this with a note on your phone or a pen and paper as well! You can choose your Dice from a wide variety of styles and types, depending on your needs.
- Inner sleeves if you want an additional layer of protection; they can be especially useful for valuable cards and frequently played decks.
- A binder or storage box for cards you aren't using; there are a wide variety of colors and character options! For best protection, we recommend a Pro Binder. You can also use our Premium Pages, which are individual sleeves that can be added to any 3 standard 3-ring binders.
- Toploaders and inner sleeves are designed to protect valuable and important cards that are not being used in a deck as normal. These offer additional rigidity and protection from the elements; you can find a dual set of these here.
Important to Consider:
- Matte vs. gloss: Matte sleeves reduce glare and can provide a different shuffling feel, while gloss sleeves offer a smooth, classic finish.
- Color and artwork: Choose a look that matches your deck, favorite color, Commander, or Magic set.
- Quantity: Most MTG formats use 60-card decks, while Commander decks require 100 cards. Having extra sleeves on hand is always a good idea.
- Consistency: Use the same sleeve type and color throughout a deck so cards have a consistent appearance and feel.
